Southern Ivy League Playing Live
Here is a clip of Southern Ivy League playing "Pseudo-Science" in a gig at Pallet Town, a concert venue in Nashville. Matt is on vocals and Guitar.
Southern Ivy League Video
Here is a pretty rowdy Southern Ivy League version of "So This Is Love" with Matt on vocals and guitar. The song is from, well, Disney's cult classic, Cinderella.
Trailer for a Film Featuring Paul
Here's a trailer of a short film called Talking Smack that features Paul. According to the film's Facebook page, it is "the story of one young woman and two young men. One of whom is brain dead. Probably." We'll assume the latter isn't Paul's part.

Southern Ivy League's Radio Performance
If you missed Southern Ivy Leaguess live acoustic set on UK's radio station in Lexington, WRFL, that aired on July 4, 2012, you can hear it here. The songs sound great in their acoustic versions; Matt sings every song because the band's other singer/songwriter was not in town.

Paul in Production of Spoon River
Paul is in a new production of of Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology(yes, you did read it in high school). I think Maridee Slater's photo above is from the production. Here's what Broadway World.com says about the production:
In Jimmy Maize’s sweeping re-imagining of Edgar Lee Masters' seminal 1915 book of poetry, a cast of one-hundred brings to life the collection of epitaphs that vividly depict life in the fictional Midwestern town of Spoon River, as told from the perspective of its deceased residents. Maize's epic adaptation incorporates live music, and dance, giving new life to the innovative spirit of Masters' work and updating it for contemporary audiences.Read the rest of the article here.

Steve's Radio Essay on the Beatles
Here is the link to Steve's radio essay on the Beatles stimulated by attending the performance of Rain, a Beatles recreation band, at Elliott Hall. The essay aired on WBAA on March 23.
Disclaimer: In this essay Steve recalls that I missed the Beatles first appearance on Ed Sullivan because of a babysitting job. I don't remember that, but my recollections of the Beatles on Ed Sullivan may be of later performances (there were several). In a subsequent conversation with Steve he recalls me calling the house and having him up the receiver so I could hear. He also thought he recalled that the babysitting was on Soldiers Home Road, which would have been the Bains, who were among my regular clientele. This has the ring of truth to it and it makes a better story than me simply gaping at our black-and-white tv along with the rest of America in slack-jawed amazement. (The only questionable element is that Ed Sullivan aired on Sunday night at 8 p.m.; Sunday was a "school night," so it would be a little unusual for me to be out plying my trade. But stranger things have happened.) What I do recollect about that fist appearance of the Beatles was that the next day at school many of the boys had converted to combing their hair straight down onto their foreheads. Sadly, I was not astute enough to anticipate this move and showed up at junior high untransformed--coiffed with a part on the right and varnished with Brylcreem. Or, did I miss the boat because I hadn't actually seen them perform but only heard tinny snippets through the the telephone receiver and had been entirely ignorant the dramatic impact of the swirling bangs had on teenaged girls?
Below is the Beatles first performance on Ed Sullivan, courtesy of YouTube (where you can see several others). It looks pretty familiar, but it also looks a lot like all the other Ed Sullivan appearances. I also note that it was on February 9, 1964, three days after my fourteenth birthday.

Paul Shines in Romeo and Juliet
Phillip and I were able to see the production of Romeo and Juliet that Paul has been involved with. We can report that Paul brings life to his character, is very natural doing the Shakespearian language, and holds his own with a cast of experienced actors. As Back Stage put it in their review, Paul "makes Benvolio a sturdy kinsman and pal for Romeo." You can read the review here.
Below are three short videos promoting the production. Paul is in most of these, though often fleetingly.

Phil's New York Photos
Phillip's been posting (on Facebook via Instagram) a series of iPhone photos of buildings in New York that seem to be kind of a collection. They share an upward-pointing perspective that eliminates the street level realities and shows the buildings against a serene background of sky. Hope we see some more.
The second picture in the sequence is the Flatiron Building, an early skyscraper, and the last image is a stairway in the Chernuchin Theatre, where, I believe, Paul's Romeo and Juliet production is playing.

Miles' Jazz
Here is a Miles Eddy original jazz instrumental adapted and recorded for the Berklee 5-Week summer program scholarship audition. All instruments performed (drums, acoustic guitar, fretted and fretless electric basses) by Miles Eddy.
And here is an extended trio jam version of "Maiden Voyage" also for the Berklee scholarship audition.

Caleb Wins 50-Meter Freestyle an Invitational
Here is Caleb winning his heat of the 50m freestyle at the JV Invitational in Zionsville on Saturday, January 28, 2012. He is the swimmer in the third lane from the bottom, somewhat blocked by the handrail of the stands for the first 1/2 of the race. A 50m is down and back, so as he does the flip turn at the halfway point, you can see him take the lead for good. It was his personal record at 26.01 seconds. He also won his heat for 100m breaststroke and his four man relay team won their 200m race. His time is probably aided by his sleek new Mohawk haircut.

Here's Steve's most recent essay, this one on the perils of timekeeping, both real and imagined, at high school football games. Note that WBAA has changed the format of their website, so things look a little different.
